The velocity of a motorboat in still water is 20 km/hr. The current of the river is 6 km/hr. The boat must land at a point Directly opposite on the other bank. Taking due care of the current of the river, the required resultant velocity of the boat is nearest to?

@rahul shouldn't the m to e.p side be 20- 6= 14?

Does velocity means speed here?

@ishitajain

we cannot subtract 20-6 to find E.P as it is a right-angled triangle and hence we use pythagoras theorem.

Yes, velocity means speed here
